This is a remote position.

Schedule:

  • 10+ hours/week, Flexible Schedule, preferably 9am to 5pm PST

As they expand their portfolio and operations, they’re seeking a detail-oriented finance professional to help build and maintain their accounting infrastructure.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic real estate finance operation where you’ll play a key role in establishing and maintaining financial systems. You’ll work directly with the business owner to manage complex installment contracts, track mortgage payments, and help build the accounting infrastructure from the ground up. This position offers significant growth potential, with the opportunity to expand your role across multiple business entities as you demonstrate success. The role combines traditional bookkeeping responsibilities with modern financial analysis, offering a unique blend of fundamental accounting and specialized real estate finance work.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain new accounting systems and procedures
  • Track and process mortgage payments for long-term installment contracts
  • Perform detailed payment segregation between capital returns, interest income, and sales gains
  • Reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate general ledger entries
  • Create and maintain financial reporting systems
  • Develop and maintain Excel-based tracking systems
  • Build and manage chart of accounts in accounting software
  • Monitor contract compliance and payment schedules
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Previous experience with U.S.-based clients strongly preferred
  • Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience implementing and managing accounting software systems
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles and financial statement preparation
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
