Job description

Description

The Government Publishing Office (GPO) is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager III to oversee technical support services for Business Reporting Development and Maintenance. The successful candidate will focus on delivering high-quality reporting solutions leveraging Power BI and Business Objects tools while strategically supporting GPO's transition toward a modernized Power BI environment. The contractor will provide subject matter expertise across key reporting functions, both on-site and remotely, in alignment with GPO's IT security and telework policies.


- New Report Development using Power BI and Azure Synapse semantic models.
- Maintenance and enhancement of existing Power BI and Business Objects reports.
- Environment support, including Business Objects server patching and upgrades.
- Data integration across Oracle Federal Financials, SQL Server, and Azure platforms.
- Responsive support to business unit requests via the ServiceNow tasking system.
- Ad hoc reporting for audits, executive needs, and operational monitoring.


Report Development
- Design and build new Power BI reports based on user requirements.
- Modify and enhance existing Power BI and Azure Synapse semantic models.
- Collaborate with business units for iterative testing and successful deployment.


Report Maintenance
- Maintain and update existing Business Objects and Power BI reports.
- Perform routine updates, error corrections, and optimizations as needed.
- Address ad hoc modification requests from business units promptly.


Environment Maintenance
- Monitor the Business Objects application server to ensure stability and performance.
- Apply necessary patches and upgrades to the Business Objects environment.
- Facilitate GPO’s transition from Business Objects to a fully Power BI-based reporting solution.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT project management, specifically in reporting solutions and data analytics.
- Proficiency in Power BI, Business Objects, and Azure platforms.
- Strong understanding of data integration methodologies, preferably with Oracle Federal Financials and SQL Server.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for managing cross-functional teams and business unit collaborations.
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

Salary Description
80,000 - 180,000
