Position Overview
The Business Development Research Analyst Intern will assist The Leading Niche (TLN) in identifying new, qualified federal contracting opportunities to support the company’s strategic growth. The intern will work closely with the Business Development team to conduct research on RFIs, RFPs, and other federal opportunities, while gaining valuable hands-on experience in federal contracting and market analysis. This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills in business development and procurement research while contributing to TLN’s mission of delivering innovative solutions to government agencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Business Development Research
- Conduct weekly research on RFIs, RFPs, and Sources Sought Notices across federal contracting platforms, such as SAM.gov, agency forecasts, and Govini.
- Analyze and assess opportunities to ensure alignment with TLN’s strategic plan and revenue goals.
- Prepare and present biweekly pipeline updates and research briefings to the executive team.
- Perform outreach to Government Contracting Officers and Specialists to verify opportunity details and acquisition strategies.
- Support responses to RFIs and Sources Sought Notices under the guidance of the Business Development team.
- Maintain and organize the Past Performance Library and Debrief Repository.
- Research and provide tailored reports on market trends, competitive analysis, and agency forecasts.
Internship Program Contributions
- Collaborate with other interns on research projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Assist in maintaining business development data on Google Drive and CRM tools with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
Administrative and Marketing Support
- Assist with scheduling trade shows, industry days, and conferences.
- Support external marketing efforts through research and event planning.
- Contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications
- Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business Administration, Political Science, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Research Skills: Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with platforms like SAM.gov and tools like Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace. CRM experience is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Adaptability: Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment.
- Interest in Government Contracting: Basic understanding of or willingness to learn about federal contracting processes.
