Job’s missions

 

We are looking for a global Manager, Health Economics Outcomes Research (HEOR), as part of the New Product Planning sub team under the Global Pricing & Market Access Function.

The main purpose of this role is to support the development and implementation of health economics and outcomes research strategies to maximize payer value perception and patient access. The holder is expected to enable regional PMA teams to successfully implement HEOR strategies on regional and local levels.

The job holder will be part of the global PMA team and She/He will be responsible to represent the HEOR perspective in collaboration with the cross-functional team on global level (incl. Medical Affairs, Business Development, R&D colleagues etc.) as well as with the regional HEOR & Market Access teams across other Santen regions.  

 

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for all HEOR-related topics within the NPP remit.
  • Support the development, execution, and implementation of early-stage global HEOR strategies in collaboration with business development and internal Santen OIC/R&D development teams.
  • Act as the key GPMA contact for RWE activities conducted by global medical affairs & R&D teams and contribute to the Integrated Evidence Generation Strategy and Publication team to ensure alignment across HEOR, clinical, and medical strategies.
  • Develop economic models (e.g., cost-effectiveness, budget impact) to support decision-making and payer engagement.
  • Develop and implement strategies for generating real-world evidence (RWE) to support product value propositions to maximize market access.
  • Lead the development of manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations to disseminate HEOR findings at scientific conferences and in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Monitor and report on the impact of HEOR activities on market access and pricing outcomes, and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Conduct global HEOR and payer research to define the payer evidence requirements and appropriate HEOR evidence strategy to meet these requirements
  • Assist in the development and dissemination of the Global Value Dossier to facilitate and expedite the preparation and submission of regional HTA, pricing, and reimbursement dossiers.
  • Plan, design, and execute health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) studies to generate evidence on the value of Santen’s products, and address payer gaps early, starting from proof of concept (POC).

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Advanced degree in life science, health economics, or related fields. (Post)-graduate degree in health economics or outcomes research preferred.
  • Sustained experience and proven track record (min. 3-5 years) in health economics and outcomes research with a focus on market access strategies.
  • Extensive knowledge of HTA mechanisms, payer insights, healthcare systems, and regulations on global level, with a focus on Japan, China, South Korea, EU5 and USA
  • Ability to develop relationships and appropriately influence internal and external stakeholders, including executives.
  • Proven ability to support change management processes and strategic/contingency plans in times of uncertainty.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with experience presenting to senior executives or external stakeholders.
  • Ability to make clear business arguments and strategic recommendations.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, analytical ability, and experience in developing and executing strategic plans.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to deliver on time.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
