Job’s mission

The mission of the Surgical Manager (EEU & DMK) is to provide strategic leadership and operational guidance to our teams, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. The role is dedicated to driving sales growth, expanding market presence, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. This position may be based in Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania or Bulgaria.

By empowering and developing our Surgical Partners, the Surgical Manager aims to enhance product knowledge, foster commercial and promotional skills, promote innovative solutions, and contributes to improved patient outcomes. Through commitment to ethical practices and adherence to regulatory standards, the Surgical Manager strives to be a trusted partner in the healthcare industry, making a positive impact on the lives of patients and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Drive the development of PRESERFLO Micro Shunt in the EEU cluster (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria) and selected countries in the Distributor Markets cluster (Slovenia, Croatia, Greece).
  • Manage own direct set of accounts.
  • Coach, supervise and mentor two Surgical Partners to strengthen market impact and to provide personal development.
  • Track and achieve country sales targets. Define annual sales targets for Surgical Partners in collaboration with EMEA Sales Director.
  • Ensure proper reporting to EMEA Surgical Management, Head of EEU & Local Country Managers.
  • Identify local risks and opportunities and coordinate a plan to address them.
  • Provide accurate feedback on competitors activities in the field.
  • Work with Country Managers on Tender Management.
  • Initiate and develop sustainable relationship with key opinion leaders across the country.
  • Lead the recruitment of potential new Surgical Partners and oversee their onboarding.

Qualifications
  • At least six years of pharma/ medical devices sales background. Experience with approaching hospitals is desirable. Experience in Ophthalmology is desirable.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, as well as at least one local language (Polish, Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, Romanian, Bulgarian).
  • In-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry. Good understanding of national healthcare systems in this area (policies, structures and processes).
  • Experience in managing an international team. The ability to lead and inspire.
  • Capability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, Surgical Partners, and other stakeholders to achieve common goals and drive business success.
  • Proficiency in negotiating terms and agreements with customers and key stakeholders to achieve win-win outcomes and drive sales growth.
  • Skill in identifying challenges or obstacles in the sales process, analyzing root causes, and proposing effective solutions to overcome them.
  • Experience in the operating room.
  • Achieving top sales performance combined with emotional control, self-confidence and desire to improve.
  • Scientific or medical degree is desirable.
