ABOUT THE ROLE

Associations International is seeking a creative and strategic Email and Communications Strategist to join the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Marketing and Communications team!


As Email and Communications Strategist, you’ll play a key part in driving brand engagement and strengthening audience connection through innovative, data-informed email marketing and social media strategies. You’ll manage the full lifecycle of email campaigns—from concept and content creation to distribution and performance analysis—while also overseeing organic social media content, community engagement, and livestream production.


This position ensures consistent, high-quality communications across platforms that support ICF’s mission and values. The Email and Communications Strategist will report directly to the Director of Marketing Content and Communications. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, develop, and execute email campaigns and standalone emails that drive engagement while respecting contact privacy
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to coordinate, edit, design, and distribute newsletters, ensuring alignment with marketing objectives
  • Create and execute email strategy for events, including both promotional and attendee communications. 
  • Grow and optimize organic email subscriber lists across various program areas (e.g., awards, research, events, learning opportunities)
  • Design creative assets for email campaigns across the organization, including responsive, accessibility-compliant email templates for a seamless multi-device experience
  • Oversee the technical administration of the email platform, including database maintenance and performance optimization
  • Proactively manage sender reputation to optimize email deliverability and engagement
  • Plan, draft, and schedule content for multiple organic social media channels, ensuring brand consistency
  • Provide community engagement and moderation across ICF’s social media platforms
  • Assist with the monthly livestreaming series, including guest coordination, production, and post-production editing for repurposing
  • Utilize analytics to measure the effectiveness of email and social media campaigns, using insights to refine strategies
  • Conduct data-driven analysis to enhance effectiveness and inform future communication initiatives
  • Stay current with trends in email marketing, social media, and emerging technologies (including AI) and integrate new insights into marketing strategies
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Excellent written communication and copywriting skills with the ability to craft engaging and effective email and social media content
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Creative and strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, ensuring accuracy and consistency across communications
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in email marketing platforms (experience with ActiveCampaign is a plus)
  • Proficiency in social media platforms (experience with Notion is a plus)
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc., for designing email and social media assets
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
