We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Area Sales Manager to oversee our operations in Australia and New Zealand. This is an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to environmental impact while growing our presence across the region.

Job Description

As the Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for planning, managing, and delivering sales activities across your designated territory. Working in close collaboration with the Sales Manager and the Vice President of Sales, Asia, you will help implement a structured and strategic sales approach aligned with TOMRA’s global objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with regional leadership to apply a systematic sales management approach

  • Plan and execute sales strategies across Australia and New Zealand

  • Build and strengthen TOMRA’s local market presence and brand reputation

  • Organise internal processes to ensure alignment with company standards

  • Maintain up-to-date sales proposals, order confirmations, and documentation in MS 365

  • Support business development in assessing new market opportunities

  • Represent TOMRA at exhibitions, conferences, and industry events

  • Actively contribute to the global TOMRA Sorting team and knowledge-sharing initiatives

Qualifications

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong commercial awareness with a demonstrable track record in contract negotiation

  • Excellent communication and active listening skills

  • Customer-focused and solutions-oriented

  • Results-driven, with a strong interest in sustainable technology

  • Analytical thinker with a proactive, structured approach

Education and Sector Knowledge:

  • Preferably a Master’s degree (commercial, technical, or economics); a relevant Bachelor's degree with experience will also be considered

  • Minimum of 4–5 years’ experience in the Waste, Resource & Recovery, and/or Recycling industries

Additional Attributes:

  • Ability to communicate a clear vision and inspire internal and external stakeholders

  • Comfortable working in high-pressure and fast-paced environments

  • Experienced in international, cross-functional settings

  • Appreciation for cultural differences and diversity in the workplace

  • Fluent in spoken and written English

  • Willing and able to travel extensively across Australia and New Zealand
