Job description

Description

Make care safer and improve patient outcomes across a multi-state region while enjoying work-life balance and professional growth. Health Quality Innovators (HQI) is seeking quality improvement (QI) professionals to deliver improvement consultation and coaching services to nursing homes, hospitals or outpatient clinical practices across a wide range of clinical and operational (“and operational” might be deleted based on SOW reductions) topics.

As a Quality Improvement Consultant (QIC), you will be part of a national program that sets the pace for performance excellence. You will review quality measure data, assess needs and identify root causes to develop action plans that guide the services you offer providers as they progress toward their goals. You will learn from and be supported by QIC peers, your team leader, subject matter experts, and dedicated analytics and communications teams in HQI’s friendly, open and collaborative work environment.

This remote position offers you an exceptional opportunity to step out of health care delivery, public health or government service and still do work that makes a significant difference for thousands of providers, patients and families. Although QICs may reside anywhere in the United States, HQI is especially interested in candidates who reside in Florida, Georgia, Kentucky or Tennessee.

About Health Quality Innovators (HQI):

HQI is a non-profit health care quality consulting organization that has improved care delivery, patient safety and outcomes for millions of people since 1984. We work with hospitals, nursing homes, practices, public health agencies, community groups, stakeholder organizations, patients and family members that want to make sustainable change.

Our team members are energized by opportunities to reduce avoidable harms, improve population health, make health care more equitable, and align technology with care delivery. The HQI culture values creativity, teamwork, and integrity as essential elements of producing excellent work. We believe in the importance of work/life balance and actively support professional growth and our local community. HQI offers a friendly, respectful, and collaborative work environment that allows team members to bring their real selves to work every day.

HQI is a 10-time winner of the Best Places to Work designation, most recently in 2025. While we maintain a small administrative office in Richmond, Virginia, our team members are permanently home-based in more than 10 states across the country.
