Under minimum supervision, the Traveling WTG Mechanic/Technician carries out daily complex assembly, service, repair, inspection and operations of infrastructure to wind turbine generators and the related equipment and facilities. Employee will be required to climb up to 300’ and perform work. Requires 36 months wind turbine specific technical and mechanical experience or equivalent. Working Relationships: Employee will communicate regularly and effectively with team members and supervisor. Points out system or process problems when noticed; engages the team in problem solving. Plans and participates in cross training with staff.
Performs daily work requirements as directed by supervisor with minimum supervision. Troubleshoot, inspect, repair, and/or retrofit of complex electrical, mechanical or hydraulic components. Follow specific verbal and written instructions to perform WTG (and associated equipment) assembly, repair, and maintenance. Performs all duties and job requirements of a Technician. Work meets customer and company standards required of position and job. Complies with Corporate, OSHA, and GEM policies and procedures at all times. Well groomed, presents a positive company image. Treats others with courtesy and respect. Works cooperatively or independently and inspires a team effort with all. Ability to work in a high volume, multi-priority environment. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Able to distinguish color. Has knowledge of various hand and power tools. Ability to work closely with others as a team. Communicates in a positive manner. Ability to work in an indoor or outdoor environment in adverse weather.
