Interim Payroll Specialist (Workforce Now) – Nonprofit | 80% Remote

Location: Hybrid – Primarily Remote, with occasional onsite meetings in Washington, DC or PG County, MD

Duration: ~2 Months (Full-Time Contract)

Reports To: Controller

Software Experience Required: ADP Workforce Now

Our client, a mission-driven nonprofit with a national footprint and offices in DC and MD, is seeking an Interim Payroll Specialist to backfill their current payroll lead during a transitional period. This is an immediate, full-time contract opportunity expected to last approximately two months while the organization finalizes a permanent hire. The position is mostly remote, with minimal in-person attendance required for quarterly staff meetings or team sessions

Key Responsibilitie

s:Manage full-cycle payroll processing for a multi-state workforce using ADP Workforce N
owEnsure timely and accurate payroll submission for employees across DC, MD, VA, NY, MA, NJ, and
CACollaborate with HR and Finance to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance with all relevant payroll laws and regulatio
nsSupport reconciliations and payroll-related journal entries within Oracle Fusion E
RPMaintain up-to-date payroll records and assist with year-end reporting as need
edLiaise with the Controller and Assistant Controller to provide status updates and respond to audit or compliance inquiri

Qualificatio

ns:Proven experience processing payroll in ADP Workforce Now, preferably for a nonprofit or multi-state emplo
yerFamiliarity with Oracle Fusion or similar ERP syst
