Health Affiliates Maine is accepting applicants for a Case Management Clinical Supervisor to join their team. This is a full-time Salaried position.

Agency-Wide Requirements


General:

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  1. Have knowledge of business English (grammatical construction, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary) and the ability to type accurately.
  2. Have working knowledge of modern office procedures, practices, and equipment, including the use of computers and electronic health records. 
  3.  Can learn and implement office procedures related to program policies and assist in training others.
  4. Have the skills to work independently, handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines with high accuracy.
  5. Have full knowledge of the MaineCare and Licensing regulations and standards. 
  6. Have knowledge of office computer programs such as Word and Excel with the ability to develop documents and work within spreadsheets as needed. 


Team Oriented:

  1. Promote a positive agency image to staff and the community.
  2. Volunteer to assist with projects interdepartmentally. 
  3. Maintain a working knowledge of administrative procedures and reporting to ensure smooth office operation in the absence of the Senior Management Team.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; to establish positive public relations; and to interact effectively with many people.
  5. Participate in staff development activities.


Administrative/Specific Position Duties:

  1. Provide clinical supervision to at least 20 full-time equivalent staff, case managers ensuring the minimum supervision is met monthly. 
  2. Provide ongoing individual and group clinical support/supervision/consultation to supervisees via phone (video platform), and e-mail weekly or as required. 
  3. Use the NASW (National Association of Social Workers) Code of Ethics, MHRT/C code of conduct, applicable laws, and policies to help resolve ethical dilemmas.
  4. Inspire staff engagement in work activities through participation in employee recognition, staff development, goal setting, team-building activities and by providing ongoing recognition of their key role in achieving our agency’s mission. 
  5. In collaboration with the Administrative Supervisor, follow all agency discharge and transfer policies and procedures including arranging back-up coverage for client(s) when applicable, providing client communication and monitoring for clinical appropriateness of discharge and transfer. 
  6. Provide diagnostic assessments for children and adults via telehealth.  
  7. Have a working knowledge of the population served by the case management department, including applicable MaineCare, Contracting and Licensing regulations/requirements.
  8. Review and approve supervisees' client charts for clinical documentation, quality assurance, licensing, MaineCare, and contractual compliance. (Clinical audits are completed annually for each supervisee, minimally).
  9. Write Section 17 letters for clients that qualify for Section 17 services as needed.
  10. Provide support to staff to develop the skills needed to engage clients in completing necessary paperwork to maintain services.  
  11. In collaboration with the administrative supervisor, evaluate each supervisee’s performance and provide formal feedback to supervisees at intervals the agency’s practices and procedures. 
  12. In coordination with the Administrative Supervisor, implement progressive discipline measures with supervisees as determined by all applicable agency procedures. 
  13. Participate as needed in the orientation. 
  14. Understand the utilization review and referral processes for support supervisees in working to resolve client related issues. 
  15. Maintain positive and collaborative relationships with the Department of Health and Human Services and other agencies/providers. 
  16. Act as agency liaison and representative to the community in relation to the case management department as needed. 
  17. Be prepared for and actively participate in Department staff meetings and individual supervision with the Assistant Director/Clinical Lead Supervisor. 
  18. Understand BHH requirements to provide coverage as needed to Wellness Coordinators.
  19. Understand Veteran and Fox procedures to provide coverage to Veteran CMs and fox team.
  20. Promote HAM (Health Affiliates Maine) visibility through attendance of community events and meetings as part of the agency and department marketing plan. 
  21. Protect and maintain the confidentiality of client records and information, following HIPAA, HITECH regulations and 42 CFR.
  22. Log/Maintain records of employee interactions and complete other forms, paperwork when necessary (e.g., supervision logs, progress notes, incident reports, etc.) 
  23. Attend and participate in clinical and administrative supervision and training as prescribed by your licensure and Health Affiliates Maine. 
  24. Have knowledge of the Rights of Recipients of Mental Health Services and the AMHI Consent Decree.
  25. Practice a trauma-informed approach to care including maintaining a calm, non-defensive attitude to de-escalate crisis situations, encouraging the health, safety, and welfare of clients, and ensuring self-determination.
  26. Participate in mandated reporting per agency policy and Maine Law including the review and submission of critical incidents, reportable events, and DA reports.  
  27. Complete all other duties as assigned by leadership.
