We are a professional services firm that provides third-party retirement plan administration services for companies that sponsor Employee Stock Ownership (ESOPs) and 401(k) Plans. Our offices are located in Charlottesville, VA, Columbia, MD, Columbus, OH, Westchester, IL, Pasadena, CA and Maple Grove, MN, although our client base is nationwide.  We are one of the top 2 companies that provide ESOP administration consulting services in the country, and we continue to grow our retirement services business (401(k), DB, CB, etc). We are seeking sharp, detail-oriented, dedicated individuals to join our team. 


We are hiring a Senior Accountant


 The Senior Accountant will play a key role in executing full-cycle accounting operations including general ledger, supporting month-end close, and assisting in financial statement preparation. This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to handle large volumes of transactional data across multiple systems. The Senior Accountant will ensure the accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with GAAP and ASC 606, assist with financial audits, and contribute to system conversions related to acquisitions. The role involves process improvement, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and active participation in financial statement reviews. 


This role can be fully remote, or you can choose to work in one of our offices: Charlottesville, VA, Columbia, MD, Columbus, OH, Westchester, IL or Maple Grove, MN.


Responsibilities:

  

• Perform full-cycle accounting tasks including general ledger entries.
• Prepare and import journal entries using Excel and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Reconcile data from multiple systems to support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
• Assist with preparation of audit documentation for annual financial audits.
• Support accounting system conversions during acquisitions and onboarding of new entities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to evaluate and improve accounting processes.
• Participate in monthly financial statement review and variance analysis.
• Utilize Sage Intacct, Excel, and other tools for data extraction and financial reporting.
• Maintain organized records and documentation to support financial accuracy and audit readiness.


Requirements

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.  

• CPA or related certification is a plus.  

• Minimum 3 years of experience with accrual accounting (GAAP) & ASC 606

• Background in using multiple accounting systems and handling data manipulation preferred.  

• Experience in acquisition accounting and system integrations is a plus.
