Position: Claims Specialist

Position reports to: Claims Team Lead

Job Location: Chicago, IL or Remote

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: $19.50-$23.00 hourly


The Claims Specialist plays a key role in customer service. The ideal candidate is customer-focused and able to follow, develop, and improve established processes. This position will also work closely with the Customer Service Team. Use independent judgment and discretion to review, analyze, and make determinations regarding customer claims and refunds.


Responsibilities

  • Assists in managing Parts Claims, Missing Product Claims, RGA’s, as well as other customer order issues and escalations
  • Helps develop and follows processes and procedures; may at times have to be an enforcer.
  • Manages claim requests from start to finish
  • Assistance with parts-replacements for current customers, damaged replacements, and filing claims
  • First point of contact for customers and/or vendors for returns and parts
  • Ordering parts as requested; check SKUs, costs, and delivery estimates as requested from team and/or customer
  • Contact vendors and shipping partners and enter sales order to start part ordering process.
  • Damage replacements -Work with vendor and follow through on replacement parts
  • Create logs and processes to keep all information streamlined for easy access and up to date
  • Work with Purchasing, Shipping, Customer Service, Accounting, Order Status, and other internal and external partners as requested to resolve customer issues
  • Assist with specific tasks as needed and assigned by the Management Team and support additional requests. 
Requirements
  •  At least 2 years of prior returns or claims management experience with a  retailer or manufacturer
  • Must be customer-focused
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Some knowledge of lighting or electrical products is preferred
  • Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel) are required
  • Experience working with Salesforce and/or NetSuite is preferred
  • Experience working in the lighting, retail, or manufacturing industry is  preferred
