Walton Isaacson, LLC’s (“WI”) Associate Strategic Planner role is instrumental in developing an understanding of our audiences, marketplace and competitive set and deriving insights that inspire the greater team. It’s more than leading discovery. It’s about leading the development of the creative brief and other strategic documents — the lens through which we judge our work. The goal is to intimately know and understand core audiences through comprehensive discovery.

This role provides an exciting opportunity for an individual who is eager to gain hands-

on experience across multiple areas of advertising, including pitching new business, learning data analytics and consumer research, developing digital and social media strategies, and staying current on the latest cultural, category, competitive, channel, and consumer trends. They will also assist the growth team with various side projects and tasks as needed, ensuring seamless execution of WI’s initiatives.

  • Work closely with strategists to support ongoing client projects. This includes conducting research, assisting in the development of strategic recommendations, and contributing to the execution of plans to ensure client success.
  • Collaborate with teams to support the preparation and execution of new business pitches. Help conduct research, and gather information/data for the 6Cs, develop presentation materials, and contribute to the overall strategy development.
  • Work with the analytics and research teams to develop an understanding of data analytics tools and techniques. Assistin gathering consumer insights, analyzing trends, and creating reports that will inform marketing strategies. Willing to learn how to use MRI and other strategy department tools and resources.
  • Participate in the planning, development, and implementation of digital marketing campaigns across various social media platforms. Learn the basics of social media analytics, audience engagement, and how digital strategies tie into overall business goals.
  • Continuously monitor and research emerging cultural, industry, and consumer trends. Provide regular updates and insights to the team, helping to ensure our strategies remain relevant and forward-thinking.
  • Provide support on various side projects as needed. This could range from basic research and execution to brainstorming creative ideas for campaigns or new business opportunities.
  • Assist the growth team in executing tasks related to prospecting, client relationship management, and developing outreach strategies to enhance business development efforts.
  • While work/life balance is a priority, late nights and weekend work may be required on occasion to meet deadlines or support new business initiatives. 
  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with WI’s standards of conduct.
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.
Requirements
  • Strong interest in marketing, advertising, and business development.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • 2 years of experience in brand strategy, consumer insights and/or brand planning.
  • Experience in account planning, strategy, advertising, marketing or market research and writing effective creative briefs.
  • Deep understanding of strategic thinking, concepts and best practices.
  • Curious, flexible and strategic.
  • Fundamental understanding and practical experience with qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Clear, comfortable and persuasive presentation style for all settings.
  • Integrated and multichannel marketing experience.
  • Driven to do the best work, no matter what it takes.
  • Basic knowledge of digital marketing and social media platforms is a plus.

LOCATION CST or EST preferred. 


The salary range for this position is $24/hour  to $26/hour. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; the associated discipline; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company(applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
