Job Description

This position will form a bridge between VWTS Finance and the Shared Service R2R team to ensure that
processes are formed and constantly evolving to ensure every opportunity to add value is captured. The
role will be supported by four direct reports with several indirect and will be high profile position within
the team with lots of exposure to stakeholders across the wider business.
 
Key responsibilities:
Process

  • Responsible for capturing refining/defining the end-to-end business objectives of the R2R processes in alignment with the controllership requirements of the business and update/communicate these as required
  • Drive process improvements in end-to end processes to fulfil business objectives including compliance with the internal controls' framework
  • Ensures the Group Chart of Account codes are applied correctly
  • Active involvement with the delivery of ERP (SAP) Implementations across the Group.
  • Harmonize processes and drive standardization across Regions
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate finance policies and procedures
    •  Partners with Stakeholders which may include HR, Finance, Audit Benefits, Legal, Payroll, team members, and vendors to determine strategic needs, defines functional/technical specifications, troubleshoot issues, and implement initiatives
    • Utilizes complex reporting tools to develop, document and monitor cross-process data integration points in future-state business process designs, facilitate resolution of misalignment across process areas
    • Operates as the key liaison with the IT, Accounting/Finance, Internal/External Auditors for SOX and Government compliance issues and company policies
    • Develops and manages the audit process for team member information; work directly with the HR, Benefits, Payroll, Accounting/Finance, IT management teams to provide data integrity, consistency, and reliability throughout the organization
    • Develops recommendations for process improvements related to data utilization and maintenance

Performance

  • Ensure that KPI's and SLA's are established and met
  • Work with the controllership team/local finance teams / Shared Service Centre/RPO's to monitor efforts to address any shortfalls in performance against KPI's to reach targets.
  • Lead process governance meetings and reporting
  • Identify process issues and trends, based on the metrics gathered
  • Recommend as appropriate changes to KPI's to manage performance and behaviors


Documentation

  • Ensure that the in/out scope definition for the process fully reflects the activities necessary for its effective and efficient running and that all stakeholders are fully aware, as necessary
  • Ensure that documentation always reflects current process requirements
  • Sign off on design, including localizations, process maps, SOP's and control documentation in coordination with the controllership teams requirements
  • Ensure any changes are completed in line with Change Control Procedures


Liaison

  • Ensure that all stakeholders (business areas / local finance) are fully aware of their process obligations in working with the Shared Service Centre
  • Co-ordinate communication and liaise with service provider Senior managers about process area and performance
  • Work closely with other Global Process Owners to ensure cross process issues are resolved collectively and consult other Global Process Owners when proposing to make changes to the end to end process impacting other areas outside their own process
  • Actively manage service management relationship with RPO's and Shared Service Centre Leads.

Qualifications

Essential Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Must have:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience
  • Strong sense of integrity always does the right thing and encourages others to behave in the same way.
  • Expert in understanding and interpreting control and operational risk
  • Experience in leadership - able to work with a global team, develop talent and work across functions effectively managing competing priorities
  • Experience of process standardization within a large, global organization
  • Good understanding of finance and SAP ERP systems

 
Technical / professional qualifications:

  • Professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CPA or CIMA), Strong IFRS experience & understanding
  • MS Office, Excel and SAP knowledge
