Description

The company is a cloud-based enterprise platform designed for the maritime industry, helping shipowners and managers streamline operations across accounting, crew management, procurement, and more. Founded in Singapore, JiBe serves over 2,000 vessels globally and integrates AI tools like UpWind and Yamba.ai for real-time insights and performance optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a group of 3–5 agile teams, supporting both their personal and professional development. Participate in architectural and design decisions alongside technical architects.
  • Lead the design and implementation of all cross-team software infrastructure, including client-server components, shared libraries, services, and development guidelines, both in cloud and on-premise environments (excluding DevOps and IT ownership).
  • Recruit, build, and nurture self-organizing teams. Define and implement career development paths and enhance both technical and soft skills of team members.
  • Continuously improve development methodologies and processes within the group, contributing to the broader organizational evolution.
  • Oversee the group’s day-to-day operations, including full ownership of deliverables, product quality, production environments, and operational requirements.



Requirements


  • Strong technical leadership combined with customer-centric thinking, business acumen, creativity, and research-driven mindset.
  • 10+ years of experience in software development, including hands-on coding and engineering management.
  • 6+ years of development experience with Node.js, C#, or Java (Angular 2+ is a plus).
  • 4+ years of experience with large-scale, high-performance distributed systems.
  • Deep technical expertise with a focus on infrastructure, preferably in building platforms for medium to large-scale organizations.
  • Experience managing at least 3 engineering teams (including managers), overseeing a group of 20+ members for at least 4 consecutive years.
  • Proven ability to prioritize, plan, and execute technical roadmaps.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proactive, self-driven, and able to work independently in a diverse, distributed environment.
  • Proficient in both verbal and written English.
  • Comfortable working with international colleagues and stakeholders.
