What’s the job?

Under broad general direction, the Research Admin Officer will provide research administrative support to TEQSA-related project activities and research operations related to post-award processes administered in Research Management Services.

This position provides research administrative support in coordinating post-award and contract research processes, as well as project administrative support on TEQSA-related activities, to the Manager, Research Operations and Reporting.

Day-to-day accountabilities: 

  • Coordinating post-award and contract research expenditure plans from researchers and the monthly financial statements for researchers with active externally funded projects 

  • Liaising with the finance team for timely invoicing and receipt of funding 

  • Providing administrative assistance related to the TEQSA-related project activities, research funding agreements and compliance matters 

  • Establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including researchers, administrators, finance, and external collaborating organisations to support effective post-award processes. 

  • Organising meetings and providing administrative support, which may include facilitating the preparation of agendas, minute-taking and follow-up actions

This is a full time 9 month  position with flexibility on hours worked across the day would even consider 0.8FTE (4 days).The preferred location for this role is Adelaide, however we will consider other locations for the the right candidate.

Who you are 

  • Experience within the Higher Education Sector 

  • Experience in implementing and maintaining document management and control systems 

  • Advanced MS Office program skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook 

  • Exceptional organisational skills and commitment to detail  

  • Highly developed time and project management skills and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and to effectively manage multiple projects including the organisation of events and functions 

  • Strong verbal communication, interpersonal and public relations skills to enable professional interaction with a range of people and cultures including other staff and external stakeholders
