Senior DevSecOps / Service Desk Engineer

Location: Costa Rica (Remote)

Shift: 1 a.m. – 10 a.m. local time

Department: IT Operations

Reports To: IT Manager

Job Summary

We are hiring a Senior DevSecOps Engineer with Service Desk experience to support our European operations. This role blends DevSecOps practices with hands-on IT support. You’ll manage secure infrastructure, cloud services, automation, and provide Tier 1–2 service desk support. This is a remote position requiring broad technical knowledge, strong security practices, and experience with both development and operations tools.

Key Responsibilities
DevSecOps Responsibilities
  • Manage Linux, Unix, and Windows systems with secure configuration and patching
  • Automate tasks using Bash, Python, PowerShell, or Go
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Bitbucket CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi)
  • Use configuration tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, SaltStack
  • Secure and manage cloud environments, especially AWS and Azure
  • Work with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, EKS, AKS, GKE, Helm, ECS
  • Maintain monitoring/logging systems: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, Datadog, New Relic
  • Ensure secure networking (VPC, VPN, Load Balancers, Vault, AWS Secrets Manager)
  • Follow DevSecOps security best practices
  • Collaborate using Agile tools: Jira, Confluence, Slack
Service Desk Responsibilities
  • Provide Tier 1–2 support for European users
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
  • Manage ticketing systems and escalate when needed
  • Administer Active Directory and Group Policies
  • Support Microsoft 365, VPN clients, and enterprise applications
  • Maintain IT documentation and SOPs
  • Ensure compliance with IT security policies
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in DevSecOps, IT support, or system administration
  • Expertise in Linux, Unix, and Windows administration
  • Proven experience with AWS and other cloud platforms
  • Skilled in CI/CD and infrastructure automation
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
  • Knowledge of networking and security best practices
  • Experience in 24/7 support environments is a plus
