Summary:


The Clinical Application Specialist will provide expert clinical training and technical support to healthcare professionals and clinical sites using SpyGlass Pharma’s ophthalmic drug delivery systems. This role is critical in ensuring the proper application of the technology in clinical and commercial settings, offering hands-on support, education, and troubleshooting to enhance patient and clinical outcomes. The Clinical Application Specialist will collaborate closely with internal teams, clinical investigators, and site staff to drive product adoption and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.


Please note: This is a U.S. based, remote position that requires regular travel to clinical trial sites across the country (up to 70%). Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States and comfortable with a travel-based schedule.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site and remote training to healthcare professionals and clinical site staff on the proper use of SpyGlass Pharma’s products.
  • Support clinical studies by working closely with investigators and research teams to ensure protocol adherence, proper device handling, and recruitment goals are met.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clinical sites, offering real-time troubleshooting and technical assistance.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Research team to gather feedback from sites and contribute to product refinement and process improvements.
  • Conduct training sessions, workshops, and educational programs for both new and existing users.
  • Assist in the development of clinical training materials, presentations, and documentation to enhance product education.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, GCP guidelines, and company SOPs in all clinical support activities.
  • Represent SpyGlass Pharma at industry conferences, site visits, and investigator meetings to support product awareness and education.
  • Maintain accurate training records, site interactions, and reporting to ensure consistency and compliance with internal policies.
  • Work cross-functionally with Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, and Quality Assurance teams to align training initiatives with broader clinical and regulatory objectives.

Qualifications Required for Position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, healthcare, biomedical engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 2 years for CAS, 6 years for CAS 2, 11 years for Sr CAS, 13 years for Sr CAS2, or 20 years for Principal CAS of experience in a clinical applications, technical support, or training role within the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.. (A commensurate combination of education and experience will be considered.)
  • Strong understanding of clinical trial protocols, ophthalmic procedures, and medical device usage in clinical settings.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and training skills, with the ability to educate diverse audiences effectively.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and provide real-time clinical and technical support to healthcare providers.
  • Knowledge of GCP, FDA regulations, and clinical research processes.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Willingness to travel 70-80% domestically to support clinical sites and training programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and clinical data management systems.
