Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive design and construction schedules for various projects using Primavera P6 software.
  • Analyze and review contractor-provided schedules for feasibility, risk, conflicts, and delays.
  • Regularly monitor project progress against the schedule and suggest corrective actions as needed.
  • Prepare detailed schedule reports and cost estimates for ongoing engineering and construction projects.

How you'll get to contribute:

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the scheduling/estimating aspects of our transportation infrastructure projects, including highways, bridges, and transit systems across New Jersey and New York. The Scheduler/Estimator will be instrumental in developing, analyzing, and maintaining various project schedules, ensuring timely and cost-effective project delivery.  This role could also be responsible for preparing construction/engineering cost estimates on various sized projects. Limited travel may be required for this role.

What you'll get to do:


  • Schedule Development and Management: Develop and maintain comprehensive design and/or construction schedules for various projects using Primavera P6 software. These schedules will include all phases from design to completion.

  • Contractor Schedule Review: Analyze and review contractor-provided schedules for feasibility, risk, conflicts, and delays. Provide feedback and recommendations for schedule improvements.

  • Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly monitor project progress against the schedule. Identify any deviations and suggest corrective actions to keep projects on track.

  • Collaboration with Project Teams: Coordinate with project team members, engineers, and contractors to ensure that schedules accurately reflect the scope of work and project timelines.

  • Schedule Integration: Integrate multiple project schedules into a comprehensive program schedule to provide a holistic view of all ongoing projects.

  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed schedule reports, including critical path analysis, progress updates, and forecasts.
  • Cost Estimates: Prepare cost estimates for ongoing engineering and construction projects at the direction of the Project Controls Director.  


Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management, or a related field is preferred but not required.

  • Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 scheduling software is required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction scheduling, preferably in transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of cost estimating best practices.  

  • Knowledge of construction processes, sequencing, and project management principles.

  • Experience working on highway, bridge, and transit projects.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple project assignments.  

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • AACE International or PMI certifications (i.e. PSP, PMI-SP, PMP, etc.) preferred.
