Position Summary: 
 
Responsibilities include ensuring lending activities are conducted in a compliant, efficient and high-quality manner by overseeing the Pre-Fund Quality Control (PFQC) review program. The PFQC Manager will lead the Pre-Fund audit team, collaborate with the lines of business to research and detect opportunities for improvement, ensure findings are responded to timely and defects are remediated when possible. Collaborates with the Post-Close Quality Control (PCQC) Manager to develop monthly reports of audit results for Senior Management, ensuring relevant and accurate information is collected and presented.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Leads a team of 5-10 Pre-Fund Quality Control Auditors and 1 Team Lead. Ensures team members are properly trained to fulfill their job duties and are cross trained on critical job functions within the group. Ensures the team has visibility to changes with quality control standards and agency/investor guidelines that impact their daily activities.
  • Establishes benchmarks and expectations for auditor performance to ensure audit timelines and review standards are met.
  • Ensures audit questionnaires are regularly updated and internal procedures and job aides align with current practices.
  • Serves as a point of contact for Underwriting, processing, closing and sales to respond to PFQC audit escalations and resolve audit disputes.
  • Manages bi-weekly meeting with Lines of Business to review all loans with critical (material) errors, ensuring all parties agree with the severity rating and the citation is properly remediated before the audit is closed.
  • Identifies emerging risks based on negative trends (KRI’s) from the monthly audits results (KPI’s). Makes recommendations for adding ad hoc sections to the QC monthly report and future discretionary reviews, targeting areas of high-risk.
  • Works with the PCQC Manager to ensure QC management report is comprehensive and actionable, the Pre-fund and Post close audit results are aligned, statistics are accurate and the report clearly captures emerging risk. Ensure the report recommends changes when needed to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and improve the overall manufacturing quality.
  • Assists with onboarding and training new employees that will be directly reporting to the PFQC Manager.
  • Reviews the Pre-Fund portion of the QC plan no less than once a year to ensure it is up to date and aligns with current agency/investor guidelines. Makes recommendations to QC Director/Risk leadership for QC program enhancements when applicable.
  • Cultivates relationships with vendors utilized in connection with the PFQC program, including vendor score cards, annual reviews and SOW renewals.
  • Point of Contact for Agency/Investor Audits/Exams of the Pre-Fund Quality Control Program.
  • Collaborates with internal and external business partners to ensure requested information is collected and delivered in a timely manner. Prepares responses to audit findings and participates in design and execution of corrective actions when applicable.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned by Sr. Management.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years experience as a Quality Control Manager/Director required. 
  • Minimum of 7 + years of Quality Control and Underwriting experience required.
  • Familiarity with LOS systems. Empower experience preferred.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to: Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay for this role is between $100K to $130K. Your base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors, including your job-related knowledge/skills, qualifications, experience, and market location.
