  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and support the finance team in financial statements and reports.

💸 Salary: €14,000 - €18,000 gross per year

The role:

We are looking for someone to join our finance team on a remote basis. As the needs of the business evolve and we continue to grow, there may be opportunities for the role to expand into other areas of finance with increasing levels of responsibility.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will be responsible for delivering accounting, financial and administrative support to the finance function and the wider company.


Some key areas you’ll be working on:

  • Monitoring finance email inbox and responding in a timely manner
  • Customer sales invoicing and maintaining sales order and billing records in Salesforce and Xero
  • Performing bank reconciliations and monitoring cashflow
  • Expenses & credit card administration
  • Processing and paying invoices and expenses, ensuring all payments have been properly authorised
  • Credit control and debtor chasing
  • Maintaining supplier records
  • Recharging expenses to clients in accordance with contract agreements and policy
  • Updating monthly FX rates on financial systems
  • Cost control activities
  • Employee timesheet recording administration
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts by producing monthly accruals and prepayment schedules for review by the Finance Manager
  • Keeping the company fixed asset register accurate and up to date
  • Assisting the finance team in the preparation of financial statements and reports
  • Supporting preparation of statutory returns and submissions to HMRC e.g. VAT, PSA
  • Supporting preparation for the annual company financial audit
  • Ensuring key processes are fully documented
  • Providing finance tasks or systems training to employees as needed
  • Other finance duties as directed

Important to have:

  • Proven experience in a bookkeeping or similar finance role, ideally within a UK-based business

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written; including excellent numeracy, spelling, punctuation, and grammar

  • Competent in G-Suite tools or Office equivalent

  • Proficiency with cloud-based accounting software, particularly Xero

  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

  • Methodical with strong organisational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in finance-related roles or supporting financial operations


Desirable Experience:

  • Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualified or working towards or completed a similar accounting qualification

  • Experience in a small busy team for a fast moving company

  • Experience of using Salesforce or other CRM systems

  • Knowledge of multi-currency transactions

  • Experience in the technology or professional services industry

  • Experience working with a US or multinational company

  • Familiarity with payroll and pension processing
