Job description

This is a remote position.

ScheduleMonday to Friday; 8am to 5pm Chicago IL Time with an hour unpaid break

Job Description: The Paralegal will be responsible for supporting attorneys by collecting, compiling, and organizing evidence and legal documentation, assisting with filings and trial preparations, and managing communications among parties. This role requires excellent organizational skills, proficiency with legal software, and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate directly with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather information and provide updates.

  • Support the real estate practice by preparing documents required for real estate transactions.

  • Draft and review discovery documents in family law cases, as needed.

  • Collect, organize, and manage evidence and legal documents for attorney review.

  • Prepare, file, and serve legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, and court filings.

  • Coordinate schedules and share information between clients, attorneys, and other parties.

  • Create and maintain organized systems for document management and retrieval.

  • Assist with collecting, reviewing, and producing documents for discovery.

  • Help prepare for trials by assembling exhibits, witness binders, and legal filings.

  • Attend virtual trials and legal proceedings to take notes and support attorneys, if required.

  • Summarize depositions, trial transcripts, and exhibits.

  • Prepare charts, graphs, and summaries to present case findings.

  • File legal documents with courts and serve them to opposing counsel.

  • Use legal software and databases for document preparation and case tracking.

  • Track and record billable hours for client invoicing.





Requirements
  • Education: Paralegal certification or degree in legal studies.
  • Experience: Experience as a paralegal.
  • MUST HAVE WINDOWS OS DEVICE​
  • Experience preparing documents for real estate transactions
  • Familiarity with discovery processes in family law cases
  • Ability to communicate directly with clients, witnesses, and experts
  • Skilled in organizing legal documents and evidence for attorney review
  • Proficient in preparing, filing, and serving legal documents
  • Strong coordination and scheduling abilities across all parties involved
  • Knowledge of legal software and document management systems
  • Able to assist with trial preparation, including assembling exhibits and binders
  • Capable of attending and supporting virtual legal proceedings when required
  • Detail-oriented in summarizing transcripts and preparing visual data summaries
  • Comfortable tracking billable hours for invoicing
