Job description

This is a remote position.

Schedule: Mondays to Fridays; 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Texas, Central Time with a 30-min paid break 


Job/Company Overview: The   company is the center of gravity for entrepreneurs in Texas, the number one startup state

in the U.S. Hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs, programmers, and designers gather day

and night, in-person and online for meetups, classes, and coworking.

 

Job Responsibilities:

● Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process

● Enter and code bills and credit card transactions in Bill.com

● Maintain Vendors W-9 on the records

● Update accounts receivables on a daily basis, issue invoices and follow up with customers

● Assist accounting team in preparation of monthly/quarterly/yearly closings

● Monthly bank and credit card reconciliations

● Monitor virtual mail inbox and emails daily

● Other duties as assigned

 



Requirements
I. Experience:

● Minimum 3+ years of experience working on an accounting team.

 

II. Software Proficiency

● Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and/or NetSuite.

● Experience with Bill.com, Expensify, and Zendesk.

● Advanced proficiency in spreadsheets, particularly Google Sheets, including V-lookups, SUMifs, pivot tables, and other advanced features.

 

III. Knowledge and Skills

● Basic understanding of U.S. GAAP.

● Outgoing personality with strong communication skills.

● Strong documentation skills, adept at creating lists and spreadsheets.

● Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a focus on improving processes and establishing systems.

● Highly organized and capable of planning ahead, while remaining flexible in response to changes.

● Ability to manage tight deadlines, including checking email during non-work hours and weekends when necessary.

● Possession of a reliable laptop computer and smartphone, comfortable for work purposes.
