Job Description

We’re seeking an experienced accountant and bookkeeper to take ownership of the complete financial operations for this successful restaurant group. This remote position offers the opportunity to work with a modern tech stack, including Xero, while managing all aspects of financial reporting and compliance for multiple hospitality venues. You’ll play a crucial role in providing financial insights that drive business decisions, preparing taxation documentation, and ensuring smooth day-to-day financial operations. This position combines the precision of accounting with the dynamic pace of the hospitality industry, offering a unique opportunity to impact a growing business directly.



Responsibilities
  • Execute daily financial operations using Xero, including bank feed reconciliation and transaction management
  • Process and manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payment cycles
  • Handle complete payroll processing and management for multiple venues
  • Prepare comprehensive financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow report
  • Match and verify purchase orders with supplier invoices to maintain accurate records
  • Generate regular management reports and KPI tracking metrics for business performance analysis
  • Create and maintain end-of-month and end-of-year financial documentation
  • Prepare Business Activity Statements and other tax-related documents in compliance with Australian regulations
  • Develop and maintain efficient financial processes to support business growth
  • Provide strategic insights based on financial data to support management decision-making

Requirements
  • Proven experience with Xero accounting software and cloud-based accounting systems
  • Understanding of Australian taxation laws, GST, and business compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated experience preparing financial documentation for Australian businesses
  • Strong background in hospitality industry accounting preferred
  • Excellence in accuracy and attention to detail
  • Advanced organizational and time management capabilities
  • Professional level of English communication skills
  • Experience with purchase order systems and invoice processing
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication channels
  • Track record of maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive financial information
  • Capability to work remotely while delivering consistent, high-quality results
