Job Title: Federal Sales Executive – IT Solutions
Location: Remote, but prefer local to D.C., VA, or MD area
Reports To: Chief Revenue Officer
Department: Sales
Travel: Variable to client sites, up to 50%
Position Type: Full-Time
Compensation Range: $115k - $200k+ (Base plus commission)

Position Overview 
We are seeking a Federal Sales Executive to drive revenue growth through new customer acquisition and expansion within the federal civilian sector. This role is critical in strengthening VTG’s presence in federal markets and fostering long-term client relationships.

Responsibilities / Job Functions: 
Lead Generation & Prospecting: 

  • Identify, research, and qualify potential clients within target markets. 
  • Develop and execute strategic prospecting campaigns, including cold calling, door knocking, email marketing, and networking. 
  • Leverage industry events, conferences, and online platforms to generate leads. 
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads. 
Sales & Business Development: 
  • Conduct needs assessments and develop tailored proposals to address client requirements. 
  • Deliver compelling presentations to prospective clients, showcasing VTG's value proposition. 
  • Negotiate and close deals, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements. 
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify new market opportunities. 
  • Build strong relationships with customers and ecosystem partners (VAR, SI, SP, etc.).
Client Relationship Management: 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at prospective client organizations. 
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing expert guidance on IT solutions. 
  • Foster long-term relationships with clients to ensure ongoing business opportunities. 
Sales Forecasting & Reporting: 
  • Accurately forecast and track sales performance against established targets. 
  • Prepare regular sales reports and presentations for management. 
  • Analyze sales data to identify areas for improvement and optimize sales strategies. 
Teamwork & Collaboration: 
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, sales engineering, SMEs, and technical support, to ensure successful project delivery. 
  • Share best practices and knowledge with other sales team members. 
  • Contribute to the overall success of the sales organization. 

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred. 
  • 3+ years of enterprise sales experience with federal government accounts, preferably in selling complex IT solutions, cybersecurity, cloud computing, data center solutions, VoIP, and managed services.
  • Proven track record of exceeding quota and driving revenue growth, and experience with consultative selling methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills: Ability to present complex technical topics in a clear, compelling manner. Impeccable negotiation skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to be coached and collaborate effectively, while also being comfortable working independently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Federal cybersecurity frameworks such as Zero Trust methodologies, NIST standards, or FedRAMP compliance.
  • Established relationships with federal civilian agencies and ecosystem partners (VARs, system integrators, solution providers, etc.).
  • Understanding of cloud computing technologies and IT solutions and their relevance to federal IT modernization.
  • Active security clearance or ability to obtain one, depending on agency requirements.
