Cloudera is looking for a talented, motivated, and passionate Senior DevOps Engineer to join our IT Technical Operations team. This individual will be responsible for the technical ownership, design, planning, implementation, and highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems.

As a Senior Devops Engineer you will: 

  • Day to day management of various Linux compute environments and accompanying infrastructure

  • Innovate and automate improvement of operations in both the public cloud and on-prem data centers

  • Develop new system and application implementation plans, custom scripts, and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability

  • Participate in a shared on call rotation to ensure the highest level of uptime to mission critical applications

  • Create and maintain complete and accurate documentation for the purpose of operational audits including security and compliance

  • Work closely with cross functional teams (SRE, Security, Engineering) to collaborate on optimal solutions for current and future projects

  • Perform troubleshooting, lead problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations

  • Ensure the integrity and security of data/systems, and look for continuous improvement to the current state of security architecture

  • Ensure high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical services

  • Develop procedures, programs, and documentation for backup and restoration of host operating systems and applications



 

We’re excited about you if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience

  • Extensive experience with RHEL based GNU/Linux operating system including common tools such as Git, Puppet, pip, etc

  • Moderate to advanced experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc

  • Strong scripting and debugging skills with Python and Bash shell

  • Operational experience with Django framework, HTML, and CSS

  • Familiarity with common CI/CD process, and tools such as Jenkins

  • Production experience with HAProxy and Nginx load balancing

  • Extensive operational experience with AWS including EC2, S3, ELB/ALBs, Route53 API, etc

You may also have:

  • Possess a strong understanding of cryptography, SSL, PKI

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking

  • Red Hat and/or Amazon certifications are a plus

  • Container experience with Docker

  • Experience administering OpenStack private cloud environment
