Availity is seeking a seasoned Technical Architect with deep expertise in Build and Release Engineering, GitLab CI/CD Administration, Source Code Management, Change Management, and Cloud Migration, particularly to AWS.
This role is ideal for a technical expert and strategist who blends systems engineering, networking, and application development to deliver enterprise-level technology solutions. The focus is on optimizing software integration with an emphasis on automation, efficiency, and reliability. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management as necessary.

Role qualifications:
- Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure and architecture solutions that ensure scalability, security, and high availability.
- Lead the integration and optimization of key tools and platforms, including:
- GitLab (Self-Managed): Manage on-prem version control, CI/CD pipelines, and project workflows.
- JFrog Artifactory: Ensure efficient management of binaries, container images, and dependencies across projects.
- Splunk: Oversee log management and real-time analytics to ensure comprehensive system monitoring and incident resolution.
- New Relic: Implement and optimize application performance monitoring and observability strategies.
- Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence): Drive effective project management, documentation, and collaboration practices.
- Secrets Management: Implement secure strategies for handling sensitive credentials and API keys using tools such as Vault or AWS Secrets Manager.
Preferred Experience:
- Deep understanding of architecture principles in both legacy and cloud-native environments.
- Expertise in designing resilient, scalable, and secure solutions using modern DevOps practices.
What you will be doing:
Build and Release Engineering:
- Design, develop, and optimize resilient build and release pipelines.
- Maintain and improve existing pipelines to enhance efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
- Embed automated testing and quality assurance checkpoints into the pipeline to ensure high standards of code integrity.
CI/CD Administration:
- Oversee the setup, maintenance, and administration of CI/CD tools and servers.
- Champion and enforce best practices in continuous integration and continuous delivery across teams.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure seamless CI/CD implementation and troubleshoot potential bottlenecks.
Source Code Management:
- Manage and maintain source code repositories, ensuring they are secure and accessible.
- Define and enforce branching and merging strategies to streamline development and release cycles.
- Ensure strict compliance with version control policies and procedures, fostering a culture of accountability.
Change Management:
- Develop and implement change management processes that balance agility with control, ensuring all changes are managed smoothly and consistently.
- Facilitate collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver software changes with minimal disruption.
- Monitor and provide impact analysis on changes, delivering insights and updates to stakeholders.
Cloud Migration to AWS:
- Lead the planning and execution of migrating on-premises infrastructure and applications to AWS, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition.
- Design cloud-native solutions that prioritize scalability, security, and cost-efficiency.
- Proactively address security and performance issues, adhering to AWS best practices.
Leadership and Strategic Contributions:
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering skill development and technical excellence.
- Contribute to departmental strategy by advising on emerging trends in build and release engineering, cloud solutions, and CI/CD.
- Stay ahead of industry developments, continuously refining processes to integrate cutting-edge technologies and methodologies.
