Job Summary:
The Reimbursement Analyst provides support to the Government Reimbursement Department,
specifically in the areas related to third-party cost reporting and data acquisition. This role is crucial in
ensuring UTMB complies with Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare hospital cost reporting regulations and in doing so contributes to the overall financial health of the organization.
Essential Job Functions:
Assists in the preparation of Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare annual cost reports.
Assists with Government Reimbursements’ month-end preparation of interim Medicare/Medicaid settlement estimates.
Provides support and documentation needed by various auditors, such as independent, Medicare, and Medicaid.
Assists in the preparation of Medicaid applications related to topics such as DSH and Uncompensated Care.
Assists in annual wage index reviews.
Maintains current knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and cost reporting laws, regulations, and manual instructions.
Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
Performs related duties as required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Requires excellent organization and task-prioritization skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Experience with electronic cost reporting software systems.
Work Schedule :
Hybrid (in-office/remote) role as determined by leadership.
Required to work evenings and weekends, in addition to a regular schedule, during the Medicare Cost Report period, if necessary, to meet federal filing deadlines.
