About the role

The Sei Development Foundation is hiring a Compliance Analyst / Manager to own, manage, and continuously improve our internal compliance operations. The ideal candidate will be rigorous, organized, highly collaborative, and equally able to push back with cross-functional stakeholders as needed.

This role will be pivotal in building and scaling compliance infrastructure, with significant ownership from the outset. As a growing startup, priorities and structures will continue to evolve, and this role will grow accordingly. This position requires an individual who is adaptable, proactive, ready to take on increasing responsibility over time and shape the compliance function in a dynamic, high-growth environment where initiative and sound judgment are highly valued.

Responsibilities
  • Policy Management: Own and manage the internal compliance policy playbook, ensuring all policies such as document retention, insider trading, conflicts of interest, and code of conduct, are current, accessible, and reviewed on an individual employee basis.

  • Compliance Education & Enforcement: Develop and maintain onboarding materials, lead periodic compliance trainings, and provide clear, real-time guidance to ensure organization-wide understanding and adherence to compliance obligations.

  • Internal Audit Support: Maintain accurate compliance logs, manage policy attestation cycles, track and flag instances of non-compliance, and support internal controls and audit readiness.

  • Regulatory Filings & Reporting: Assist Legal and Operations with regulatory disclosures, foundation compliance documentation, grant tracking, governance filings, and other compliance reporting initiatives as the organization scales.

  • Process Optimization: Continuously refine and improve compliance-related workflows, including documentation management, review cycles, approval procedures, onboarding and offboarding processes, and reporting standards.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Legal, Operations, and other key stakeholders to integrate compliance practices into daily business operations and drive a culture of accountability and risk awareness across the organization.

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in compliance, legal ops, or other relevant role; web3 and/or fintech startup experience is a big plus

  • Familiar with internal controls, SEC/FINRA guidelines, trading windows, data retention, and confidentiality frameworks

  • Proficient with tooling like Notion, Google Docs, DocuSign, and other workflow/documentation platforms

  • Exceptionally organized, accountable, and detail-obsessed

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, shifting priorities, and startup intensity

  • Able to deliver information clearly and directly, including pushback
