The Position:

We seek a strategic and scientifically driven Market Development Manager to lead engagement with academic medical centers and large integrated health systems to drive research engagements and academic partnerships for our Minimal Residual Disease (MRD) testing platform. This role is central to identifying and nurturing clinical and translational research partnerships that expand the impact and utility of MRD testing in oncology care across various indications. This role would report to the Executive Director of general oncology product management

 Location: This is a fully remote position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Veracyte’s Medical Directors and the Medical Operations team to identify and build relationships with target KOLs
  • Act as a scientific contact for leading academic institutions and health systems regarding MRD testing.
  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships focused on clinical validation, real-world evidence generation, and data-sharing initiatives.
  • Engage with KOLs, department heads, lab directors, and clinical researchers to align MRD capabilities with institutional and company goals.
  • Present MRD science and data at institutional meetings, tumor boards, grand rounds, and scientific congresses.
  • Support medical affairs and business development in assessing collaboration opportunities and executing partnership strategies.
  • Relay scientific and clinical insights to internal teams to shape product development, clinical utility studies, and commercialization efforts.
  • Monitor trends in academic research, health system initiatives, and policy impacting MRD testing adoption.
  • Support cross-functional alignment with market access, commercial, and clinical development teams.
Who You Are:
  • An advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD) in oncology, hematology, molecular biology, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a sales, market or business development,  medical affairs, or academic outreach role in diagnostics, biotech, or pharma is required.
  • Deep knowledge of liquid biopsy, NGS-based diagnostics, or cancer genomics is required.
  • Existing network of oncology KOLs in leading academic and NCI-designated cancer centers.
  • Demonstrated success in forming partnerships with academic centers or large hospital systems.
  • Deep knowledge and expertise of MRD technology and the current market landscape is preferred.
  • Experience supporting or initiating clinical research collaborations, including investigator-sponsored trials, is preferred
  • Understanding of diagnostic value assessments and integration pathways in large care networks is preferred
  • Must have outstanding interpersonal skills in understanding HCP needs and situational awareness to adapt content and communication style in real-time.
  • Must have excellent communication, written, and scientific presentation skills; ability to navigate complex institutional environments.
  • Detail-oriented, organized self-starter with a strong ability to prioritize workload.
  • Willingness to travel (~50-70%) to engage with customers and external stakeholders.

The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units. Veracyte is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.

$180,000$192,000 USD
