Site Reliability Engineer - Remote, USA

Position Summary:

As a key member of the DevOps team, you will participate in the design, implementation, and ongoing operation of the tools that automate building, operating, and monitoring of CrashPlan systems. You will participate in software development, including writing maintainable code, comprehensive tests, and mentoring/collaborating with the team in all aspects of application service delivery. These services must be highly available and performant in a 24x7 environment. You will support Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies and Microsoft Azure technologies leveraged by the CrashPlan Cloud eco-system. You will be executing a diverse portfolio of projects within an Agile management framework and will author documentation including standard operating procedures, analysis, and project artifacts.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Automating the build, deployment, operation, and monitoring of the CrashPlan Cloud eco-system
  • Troubleshooting complex systems, remediating issues, and taking steps to prevent recurring issues
  • Contributing to other support and automation efforts as needed
  • Adhering to Security and SOC2 compliance standards and controls
  • Proposing and developing new technology standards and best practices as appropriate
  • Collaborating as part of a team of engineers dedicated to putting the customer first
  • Other duties as assigned

 

What You Bring:

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • 3+ years of related work experience in a DevOps / DevSecOps environment
  • 2+ years of experience working with AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • 2+ years of experience working with Terraform

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in an Agile Operations/Development Environment
  • Strong Linux experience (Amazon Linux, Ubuntu, RHEL, Debian, or Centos)
  • Demonstrated experience in computer networking (internet routing, load balancing, DNS, etc.)
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP Systems Architecture and Operations 
  • Experience with Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery systems 
  • Proficient in solution design using Hashicorp tools
  • Proficient in programming software (Java, Python, GoLang, Git, etc.)

 

The base salary range for this role is $98,000 - $112,000. This position is eligible for a variable bonus plan based on assigned targets, in addition to a full range of benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k match, and more. Final compensation will be dependent on various factors relevant to the position and the candidate such as geographical location, candidate qualifications, certifications, relevant job-related work experience, education, skillset and other relevant business and organizational factors, consistent with applicable law. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed.
