Position Purpose:

The Program Manager IV will serve as a critical thought partner and strategic executor, responsible for leading net-new, high-priority initiatives that drive operational efficiency and solve complex business challenges across PHCO. Acting as a main support to the manager for this team, this role is focused on designing innovative, scalable solutions and work processes that span multiple Medical Management departments and could impact enterprise-level outcomes.

The Program Manager IV will support projects from ideation through implementation and stabilization, with a focus on handing off mature solutions for long-term ownership outside of their immediate team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong problem-solving skills, exceptional cross-functional collaboration experience, and a track record of turning ambiguity into action.

  • Support end-to-end planning, design, and delivery of large-scale, cross-functional initiatives that address key business opportunities or operational gaps.

  • Partner closely with leaders to conceptualize and co-create innovative processes, tools, or workflows that improve efficiency, accountability, and visibility.

  • Create high-impact presentations, and decision-making artifacts to inform senior leadership and drive organizational adoption and support.

  • Create and deliver best practice and training information to indirect reports (when applicable), peers, and other employees. Work with the training team to create/review training materials.

  • Develop and deliver training and onboarding materials to impacted departments. Work with analytic teams to create ongoing analytic tools for post project implementation. Lead handoff planning and documentation to ensure sustainable ownership after implementation.

  • Proactively manage areas such as risk, budget/forecast, dependencies, etc. Prepare strategic analysis of potential business and/or operational opportunities as needed.

  • Anticipate challenges, develop mitigation strategies, and escalate critical risks thoughtfully and effectively.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience required. 8+ years of Program or Project Management experience required. Previous experience as a lead in a functional area, managing cross-functional teams, or large-scale projects required. Proficiency in MS Office applications and project management tools required. Healthcare experience and/or managed care experience preferred. Strongly preferred qualifications include a demonstrated ability to partner with leaders and influence without authority, exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, and a strong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights. Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) preferred.

Pay Range: $86,000.00 - $154,700.00 per year

Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives.
