Job description

Job Title: Business Development Associate
Location: Northeast US (Preferable - OH, PA, NY, NJ (more generally NE))
Job Type: Full-Time
Department: Business Development / Recruitment
Reports To: Regional Director of Business Development, directly supporting Director of Business Development

Main Function:
As a Business Development Associate, you will work closely with the Director of Business Development and other cross functional teams to generate leads, qualify physician recruits, and support the overall physician recruitment process. Additionally, you will assist the Director of Business Development in other facility growth related initiatives for the overall region as directed by the Director of Business Development and Regional Director of Business Development. This is a perfect opportunity for someone eager to grow in the healthcare industry, sales and recruitment, and business development field. Ideal candidate is working in the associate position with the desire to learn from team leaders and broaden understanding of the healthcare industry with the intent of moving into a Director role managing own territory within 2-3 years.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identifying Physician Candidates: Assist in identifying and sourcing candidates through various channels, including industry data, LinkedIn, social media, physician partners, medical device sales reps, and referrals.
  • Physician Screening/Cold Calling: Conduct initial cold calls and screening calls to evaluate physician candidates’ qualifications, needs, experience, and clinical fit.
  • Physician Collaboration: Work closely with the Director of Business Development to understand physician requirements and needs of surgery centers.
  • Credentialing and Physician On Boarding Process: Assist in management of physician credentialing applications, preference cards, identify block times, coordinating and attending facility tours as needed.
  • Salesforce/CRM Management: Maintain and update the physicians in the database to ensure accurate tracking of potential physician recruits and physician interactions.
  • Market Research: Assist in conducting market research to identify new business opportunities and keep up with industry trends.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to Director of Business Development, including covering first cases, and coordinating communication between physicians and surgery centers.
  • Cross Functional Support: Connecting with all areas of the business to shorten timelines of recruitment of physicians, programs, service line and product lines being deployed across the surgery centers in the territory.
  • Prospect and generate new business opportunities through cold calling, email outreach, and social media.
  • Qualify leads by gathering relevant information and understanding client needs.
  • Schedule meetings and center tours for the Director of Business Development.
  • Maintain and update accurate records of interactions with potential physician recruits in the Salesforce system.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Business Development to develop strategies for lead generation.
  • Assist with creation of NDA, credentialing packets, and preference cards for physician recruits.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and competitive landscape.
  • Support the team in executing various business development strategies and campaigns.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree, or related field experience
  • Experience: 1-3 years of sales experience, and direct experience of generating revenue, healthcare industry (preferred)
    • Skills:
      • Ability to hunt and find new business and bring an opportunity from start to finish (close the deal).
      • Motivated, proactive, positive attitude, self-starter with a strong desire to learn and grow in a sales-oriented role.
      • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
      • Ability to build relationships and establish rapport with prospects.
      • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities effectively.
      • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
      • Familiarity with a CRM, Salesforce (preferred).
