Job description

Highlights:

  • In this project, you will help support development off standoff sensor systems to find threat objects before they can cause harm. The system will help solve an urgent need to protect US military and civilian personnel abroad and at home.
  • You will be part of a dynamic team of engineers, scientists and programmers. You will work with one of the nation’s premier laboratories alongside top-notch talent from the civilian, industry, and military sectors, and you will have access to advanced technology.
  • In this project, you will help develop and test systems that provide advanced RF sensing for standoff detection of threats. Your work will advance the state of the art and address real-world problems.
  • By applying your hands-on knowledge of UAV operations, test management, logistics, and program management, you will play a direct role in transitioning this technology from the laboratory to the battlefield.
  • In this role, you will build your strengths in designing and executing complex field tests with multiple technologies and organizations. Each day will present a new opportunity to learn and grow. Professional development is encouraged and expected at I-3.

 

Typical Day:

A typical day will be spent in the office and/or remote work location.  The position is part-time with flexible hours. 

 

Tasks:

Provide guidance to assist with technology development, program management, and strategic planning.   

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree
  • 35+ years of experience in DoD RDT&E.
  • Minimum 100 published papers.
  • Leadership positions at branch and division level.
  • Experience with spectrum situational awareness (SSA) and dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) S&T research.

 

Desired Qualification:

  • TS/SCI Clearance

 

Position Type Shift Information:

  • Part-Time
  • Day shift as required to support customer activities

 

US Citizenship: US citizenship is required

Clearance:  Top Secret clearance required
