Job description

Role Overview  

This person will be responsible for providing senior leadership for Financial Planning & Analysis across CAA. This position will lead multiple roles at CAA’s Finance organization. This person will be responsible for providing senior leadership for FP&A, Business Operations, Audit and Procurement .  

Key Responsibilities  

  • Design financial planning & forecasting processes, tools for CAA across National Organization and our subsidiaries 
  • Manage planning for the National CAA organization as well as provide support to state Finance Directors for budgeting and forecasting support 
  • Create the long term (i.e. 3-5 year) Strategic plan including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flows, Investment Needs and Capital/Financing Needs in coordination with the Chief Strategy Officer
  • Lead the annual budgeting plan for the National CAA organization and the State EPR program operating budgets including review with Executive Leadership Team including Board of Directors
  • Develop and implement a cadence of forecast reviews with senior leadership team including adequate reviews and reporting to Board
  • Responsible for the preparation / review of CAA’s quarterly and annual budgets
  • Develop and review monthly financial reports
  • Budget and spend trend analysis 
  • Prepare quarterly package for Board of Directors and senior leadership reviews
  • Provide senior leaders with KPIs on their financial budgets 
  • Develop a standardized financial model for organizational and state program budgets 
  • Ensure quality across all budgeting and reporting activities
  • Other job-related duties as assigned

  

Skills & Competencies  

  • Experience in large, complex, matrixed organization is a must
  • Experience in nonprofit highly valued
  • Experience in Business Operations Finance including experience in working, designing and leading financial planning & budgeting/forecasting including experience in leading and developing long term strategic planning 
  • Strong collaborative and communication skills
  • Must have demonstrated experience in Executional Excellence
  • Must have demonstrated experience in Learning Agility
  • Experience with creating, analyzing and reporting to management
  • Experience with Workday Financials highly preferred. In absence of Workday Financials, candidate must have strong experience across other financial systems and must demonstrate ability to quickly understand and master Workday Financials.  
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify actionable insights.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
  • Ability to build, develop, lead and engage strong teams, with direct or indirect reporting lines including remote employees. 
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment for rapid pace and with flexibility. Ideally understand and adapt to the startup nature of CAA. 

Qualifications  

  •  Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • At least 10 years of finance & business planning experience. 

Compensation & Other Information  

  • Location: Fully Remote 
  • Compensation:  The salary range is based on a variety of factors in accordance with applicable law, including the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for medical, dental, and vision benefits, life insurance, retirement, and paid time off
  • Reports To: CFO
