Job description

Overview

The Field Engineer will oversee and execute the project controls and management of a multiple disciplines. The main functions of the Field Engineer will include (but not limited to) responsibility for a specific area of the project such as direct support to a Craft Superintendent, quantity collection, scheduling, contract administration, project planning and scheduling, procurement, and project reporting.


The Field Engineer role requires interfacing with all areas affected by the project including the client(s), engineering/design, subcontractors, distributors, vendors, and the ongoing strategic communication with project management regarding the status of the project.


Location & Travel Details: You can be based in any city or state in the U.S.. This is a traveling, project based position, up to 100% of the time. You have the potential to be placed on a project site located in any state throughout the US. You’ll spend 8-18 months on average per project. We offer designated per diem in addition to an excellent base salary to support and help you cover living expenses. This position is eligible for mobilization support (may include mileage reimbursement), and includes one longer weekend every four weeks for additional time at home.

Responsibilities


  • Represent the company professionally in client interactions.
  • Provide contract-required reports (weekly, monthly, schedule).
  • Follow Corporate and site-specific safety plans.
  • Perform quantity calculations and track material/work completion.
  • Develop and review work plans and work packages.
  • Ensure site quality plan and inspections are completed on time for turnover.
  • Manage daily labor timesheet processing and client approval.
  • Distribute weekly Average Labor Rate to supervisors.
  • Train employees on completing Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
  • Lead safety reviews, meetings, and training.
  • Order materials, schedule deliveries, and report procurement status.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate jobsite work groups.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years’ experience as a Field Engineer or similar role. INDUSTRIAL EXPERIENCE PREFERRED.


Knowledge, Skills And Abilities


  • Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations.
  • When on-site, actively participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors.
  • Set a personal example of safe behavior.
  • Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment.
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
  • Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives.
  • Willing to travel extensively and relocate to the next project location for an extended period (typically 6-12 months.)


Hours


This position is a Full-Time position scheduled to work typically 50 hours per week. Schedule is subject to projects requirements.
