Job Purpose

To perform basic general ledger and cost accounting activities to aid in the production of various financial statements, reports, and statistics reflecting earnings, profits, cash balances, and other financial results. Formulates and administers approved accounting practices within a business, plant location or corporate environment to ensure the development of accurate and consistent financial and operating reports. To provide financial and operational support to Operations/Functions while ensuring compliance and controls are in place.

In This Position You Will Have The Opportunity To

  • Assist in preparation of monthly Cost of Production (COP) for responsible sites.
  • Review all Physical inventory adjustments at the plant
  • Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses for an assigned business or plant location
  • Review and analyze data to prepare entries to general ledger
  • Follow a system of internal controls to safeguard assets
  • Review financial statements for accuracy in processing month-end closing; conduct quarterly balance sheet review, analysis, and reconciliation
  • May assist in preparation of strategic plan financials
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
  • Perform other duties as necessary

What do I need to be successful?

  • 2+ years of demonstrated accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Or any combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position
  • Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current local, state, and federal laws
  • Knowledge of licensing and regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of current budgeting and forecasting methods
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collect and assemble data for the development of financial reports
  • Ability to analyze complex information and formulate decisions
  • Ability to operate a computer and supporting software packages, including the ability to satisfactorily perform all SAP tasks associated with this role

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

Work Environment

  • This position will be remote, working in a home office and occasionally environment
  • Occasional travel and extended work hours required
