IT Business Systems Analyst II (Workers' Compensation Insurance) | 100% Remote (WFH) Opportunity

General Summary

The Business Systems Analyst (Workers’ Compensation Insurance) serves as primary contact for any questions related to how the system works from both a business and technical perspective. The analyst partners with business liaisons to translate software requirements into technical specifications and partners with software engineers and QA analysts to develop logical technical processes. Business Systems Analysts develop skills in both Waterfall and Agile software delivery methodologies and techniques. The analyst also performs basic cost-benefit calculations, interdependency analysis, and prioritization exercises related to systems changes.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Partner with business liaisons and technical teams (development and quality assurance) to understand and define system goals and technical system requirements
  • Create technical specifications and processes using structured analysis and data modeling techniques (e.g. activity diagrams, story boards, entity-relationship diagrams) as it pertains to Workers’ Compensation Insurance
  • Create/facilitate Agile delivery Stories, and Requirements
  • Partner with designers to build system functionality and quality attributes
  • Participate in system and user acceptance testing efforts
  • Build and leverage automation to decrease overall system deployment and support cycle time
  • Create/facilitate Agile delivery story boards and EPICs
  • Implement process changes and tools
  • Understand system interdependencies and collaborate with across domain and squad teams accordingly

Requirements

  • 3 - 8 years experience (preferably in Workers’ Compensation Insurance)
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise in work products
  • Ability to partner with software engineer’s quality analysts to identify course of resolutions
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent project management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to support basic Agile delivery processes including story-boarding, writing stories, and defining acceptance criteria
  • Strong communication skills

Certification

  • Agile Fundamentals (Story Writing)
  • Six Sigma Yellow/Greenbelt a plus
  • Certified Scrum Master
  • BABOK Certification or Equivalent (A Plus)

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Business, or equivalent experience

Work Environment

Remote: This role is remote, and only open to candidates currently located in the United States and able to work without sponsorship.

  • It requires a suitable space that provides a private and quiet workplace.

Expected Work Hours: Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.

Travel: May be required to travel to off-site location(s) to attend meetings, as necessary
