Job description

Street Diligence is a high-growth FinTech start-up with an innovative product offering and ambitious expansion plans. Our clients include leading financial institutions that use our platform to analyze and negotiate advantageous terms in legal and financial contracts.  We break down key terms, identify what’s “market” and “off-market” and flags risks embedded in contract terms.  Our platform also provides unique visuals, benchmarking and comparison to place negotiations and contracts in context.  Founded in 2012, Street Diligence is headquartered in New York.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Street Diligence Inc. is seeking a thoughtful and experienced Engineering Team Lead to help scale and shape our fintech platform as we grow. In this role, you’ll be a key player in both writing and reviewing production-quality code and leading a talented engineering team. You’ll serve as a technical mentor and coach while ensuring strong execution across product delivery.

This is more than just a coding role — you’ll align engineering initiatives with the strategic direction of the business, partnering closely with the CEO and CTO to ensure our technical roadmap supports Street Diligence’s vision. You’ll help shape a high-performing engineering culture rooted in collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Write and review production-level code while serving as a technical coach and mentor to engineers.

  • Align engineering efforts with the strategic priorities of the CEO and CTO, balancing long-term product vision with scalable, high-quality execution.

  • Foster a strong, growth-oriented engineering culture through mentorship, feedback, and process improvement.

  • Lead the delivery of key software initiatives from architectural decisions through to sprint planning, execution, and release.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership, product, and design teams to ensure engineering remains deeply connected to company goals.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Proven experience leading engineering teams in a high-growth SaaS environment.

  • Strong proficiency in writing, reviewing, and delivering production-grade code and experience in mentoring teams to produce high quality code.

  • A track record of aligning technical execution with broader business and product objectives.

  • Deep understanding of modern engineering best practices, system architecture, and software development lifecycle (SDLC).

  • Our current stack includes Python, JavaScript, MariaDB, Redis, Snowflake, SQL, Azure, and Frappe framework — experience with any of these technologies is a strong plus.

  • Ability to coach, mentor, and elevate engineers of varying levels while maintaining high delivery standards.

  • Experience working cross-functionally with product, design, and executive teams to drive outcomes.

  • A balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution — comfortable operating at both the code level and the leadership level.

  • Excellent communication skills and a bias toward collaboration and clarity.

We know that not everyone will meet all of the qualifications listed above. If your experience doesn't perfectly align, but you believe you'd be a strong fit for the team, we encourage you to apply. We’re eager to learn more about what you can offer!
