Job description

Manager, Accounting

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual that is responsible for the daily payroll department operations while applying knowledge of certified prevailing wage payroll concepts, practices and procedures. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for developing and administering approved payroll policies and procedures that are consistent with the company’s strategic plans and objectives. This role will be responsible for ensuring all accounting-related functions are carried out efficiently in accordance with company policies, procedures and work practices and meet all statutory compliance requirements.

We are looking for an exceptional individual who can:

  • Maintain accurate financial information ensuring execution and compliance of internal policies as well as external requirements, including but not limited to:
  • Generate monthly customer invoices.
  • Review, prepare and process accounting transactions to ensure accuracy of company’s financial statements.
  • Perform and/or review account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, to senior management.
  • Review contracts and advise internal stakeholders on ASC 606-compliant revenue recognition.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulations.
  • Drive updates to accounting policies, systems, and procedures to enhance efficiency and maintain GAAP compliance.
  • Ensure compliance of accounting month-end calendar, including accurate and timely reporting of financial results.
  • Maintain strong financial control environment by identifying opportunities in our current processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Actively support the external audit of the company’s financial statements.
  • Effectively leading the accounting staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
  • 5+ years of experience supervising/managing accounting function
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams
  • Experience in public accounting
  • Experience guiding operational teams and providing education on revenue policies and best practices.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, time management, follow-up, and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with financial systems such as Acumatica and FloQast is a plus
  • Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, particularly ASC 606
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with a proactive, collaborative mindset
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail in managing financial information.
  • Ability to pursue multiple objectives and initiatives, analyze complex issues, and facilitate change
  • Ability to use discretion when working with highly confidential information
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Comfortable in a rapidly growing environment with evolving organizational needs

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 5%
