Summary
Point Broadband is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to help strengthen and defend our growing service provider and cloud environments. You’ll be hands-on with critical security projects, including Fortinet firewall migrations, PAM, SIEM deployments, Azure security, and endpoint protection — all while working across real networks, real risks, and real impacts.
We’re looking for someone who can work smart without needing a 400-page playbook, communicate clearly with tech and non-tech teams, and continuously level up our security posture.
Duties And Responsibilities
Deploy and manage cybersecurity technologies across network, cloud, and endpoint environments, including:
Fortinet Firewall migrations, policy hardening, and FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer integration
SIEM deployment, configuration, and tuning for incident detection and response
Endpoint Detection and Response (CrowdStrike) across IT and OT systems
Support security architecture for:
Azure cloud migrations and Azure Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) deployment
Cloud discovery, security assessments, and cloud native security tools (Azure Security Center, Defender)
Conduct vulnerability assessments, threat modeling, and drive remediation activities.
Assist in executing and refining Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity (BCP) plans.
Contribute to incident response by analyzing Indicators of Compromise (IOCs), assisting in evidence handling (chain of custody), and executing response playbooks.
Perform log analysis, threat detection, and anomaly correlation within SIEM platforms.
Support IAM initiatives, including Active Directory, MFA deployment, and secure access control management.
Perform basic scripting and automation to improve security workflows (PowerShell or Python).
Assist in documenting risks, controls, incident response activities, and technical standards in alignment with NIST RMF practices.
Communicate effectively across engineering, IT, and business leadership teams on cybersecurity findings and actions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, or related field — or equivalent hands-on experience.
3+ years of practical cybersecurity experience in IT, network, or cloud security roles.
Core Incident Response (including evidence handling and chain of custody fundamentals)
Security frameworks (NIST CSF, NIST RMF) and basic compliance awareness
Scripting ability (PowerShell or Python) for task automation or data analysis.
Strong written and verbal communication skills — must be able to create documentation, incident reports, and articulate risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot across systems.
Bonus Points
Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, Fortinet NSE, Azure Security Engineer (AZ-500).
Familiarity with OWASP Top 10 and web security basics.
Exposure to operational technology (OT) cybersecurity practices.
Threat intelligence consumption experience (understanding actor motivations, attack vectors).
Familiarity with additional security platforms (Zscaler, Mimecast, Delinea PAM).
