Job description

What we do and why we do it

As the leading end-to-end investment platform for single-family rental homes (SFR), our mission is to make real estate investing radically accessible, cost effective, and simple. We successfully merge our passion for helping investors build wealth through real estate with cutting edge technology that transforms the way they do it.

How it’s going (and growing)

With a talented team of 600+ Roofsters, our collaborative, can-do culture is what fuels our growth. In 2022, we closed on our Series E, raising $240 million, and have offices in California, Texas, and New York as well as many remote opportunities. Our growth includes recent acquisitions of Stessa (financial and asset management software), RentPrep (tenant screening and placement service for landlords), and Mynd (property management platform for both Retail and Institutional investors). In 2025, Roofstock took an ownership stake in Casago (short-term rental management services), expanding our platform to support both long-term and short-term rental investment services.

About the Role

We’re seeking a highly analytical and driven Senior Real Estate Analyst to support our institutional portfolio transactions. This role is central to our platform—underwriting deals, leading execution, and managing the full transaction lifecycle for large-scale SFR and BTR portfolios. You’ll need a strong sense of ownership and the ability to "quarterback" complex transactions from start to finish. You’ll be the hub connecting cross-functional teams, external stakeholders, and key decision-makers, ensuring that deals progress smoothly, accurately, and on time.If you’re a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to work on $100M+ deals with major institutional clients, this is your opportunity to make a significant impact.

  • Underwrite SFR and BTR portfolios across U.S. markets, including scattered-site and purpose-built communities
  • Build and maintain dynamic Excel models for pricing, valuation, scenario analysis, and investor returns
  • Take ownership of transaction workflows from initial offer to closing—driving execution, coordinating diligence, and managing stakeholder communication.
  • Lead the preparation of investment decks, offering memoranda, and market analysis for client-facing materials
  • Analyze rent rolls, operating statements, property KPIs, and housing trends to inform underwriting assumptions
  • Conduct asset- and market-level benchmarking to guide pricing and positioning strategies
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Asset Management, Property Management, Capital Markets, Product, Engineering, and Legal Teams
  • Aggregate, clean, and analyze portfolio data for reporting and decision-making
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve platform efficiency
  • Manage a pipeline of active deals with a focus on precision, accountability, and timely execution
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or a related field
  • Real Estate Salesperson license or willingness to get one within a year of hire
  • 2–4 years of experience in real estate investment, private equity, investment banking, or institutional transactions (SFR/BTR experience preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive deals forward with minimal oversight
  • Strong Excel modeling skills; experience with Argus, SQL, or data visualization tools is a plus
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (PowerPoint proficiency required)
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities with a detail-first mindset
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deals and priorities in a fast-paced environment
