Accountabilities
35% Client Management: Own the relationship - Under Promise and Over Deliver
- Lead the discovery process with clients, collaborate with team members and embrace clients as partners, using their input to inform and inspire creative ideas.
- Effectively draft, present, sell and explain all agency work/proposals to clients.
- Clearly communicate client and agency deliverables, timelines and expectations.
- Ensure the Group Account Director and/or Chief Client Officer are involved in significant client meetings.
- Proactively grow existing client accounts to meet or exceed financial targets.
30% Project Management: Drive the bus
- Collaborate with project teams to develop big ideas and brand propositions, document meetings, write final drafts and drive them through to completion.
- Develop clear and detailed creative/project briefs to ensure internal teams are aligned on key account information, project requirements and strategic goals as needed.
- Manage projects from concept to completion: Open project tickets, scope and estimate work, organize kickoffs, develop workback schedules, track progress and ensure timely delivery and client satisfaction in collaboration with project and account teams.
- Lead project retrospectives before closing to address internal issues, drive accountability and share results with the client as needed.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment and provide leadership to junior team members when required.
25% Administrative: Focus on getting the job done, not who’s going to get it done.
- Review and proof all production materials to ensure they're accurate, strategically aligned and error-free prior to client presentation.
- Support senior Accounts team members with outlining monthly projections, completing billing sheets, invoice approvals and client budget tracking.
- Monitor project scope and assess profitability by tracking hours and gross margin throughout each phase.
10% Communication Planning; Drive the process internally and with the client.
- Support senior Account team members in developing marketing, brand and digital strategies for assigned clients.
- Contribute to strategic planning by reviewing market research, analyzing competitor and category benchmarks from both a creative and strategic standpoint.
- Assist in building budgets and blocking charts for campaigns and plans.
- Actively participate in brainstorms by contributing to discussions—bring your ideas, not just your notepad.
WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Functional (Technical Skills)
- Bachelor's degree in business or marketing/communications, or a related field is preferred (An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an advertising agency or client management role.
- Experience managing a client portfolio with an annual budget of approximately $800,000 in Agency Gross Income (AGI), including independently managing at least $100,000 of that total.
- Proven ability to manage marketing projects from start to finish.
- Experience building or contributing to the development of marketing plans and account strategies.
- Skilled in supporting monthly projections and invoicing, tracking client budgets and conducting project retrospectives.
- Solid understanding of budgeting, financial tracking and business operations.
- Strong business writing and documentation abilities.
- Exceptional presentation and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both internal teams and external clients.
- Understanding of marketing, sales, advertising, digital marketing and web development.
- Knowledge of the agricultural industry is a strong asset.
