Job description

Solutions Consultant – Payments Specialist
As a Solutions Consultant – Payments Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in driving new business by leveraging your expertise in B2B payments and the invoice-to-cash process. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to both prospects and customers, guiding them through complex business challenges and illustrating how Billtrust’s SaaS-based solutions—including our payments processing platform—can unlock efficiencies and deliver ROI.
You will collaborate closely with Sales, Product Marketing, Payment Operations to provide strategic insights and expertise throughout the sales cycle.
What You'll Do:

  • Partner with account executives and payment operations to drive new logo acquisition and expand payment revenue with existing clients.
  • Provide strategic payment insights and recommendations that address both invoice-to-cash and payments processing needs.
  • Conduct detailed credit card analyses to build ROI business cases and support solution positioning.
  • Build and present custom collateral and executive-level narratives on ACH and credit card merchant services.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to C-level stakeholders, confidently discussing interchange fees, surcharging, payment modalities, and the strategic benefits of Billtrust’s payments toolkit.
  • Train internal sales teams on payments best practices and support the development of enablement materials and scalable processes.

What You'll Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience selling complex technical solutions in B2B environments, ideally in Payments, Merchant Services, or AR/Invoice-to-Cash SaaS.
  • Deep knowledge of B2B payments, including interchange, card brands, ACH, and surcharging models.
  • Proven ability to conduct ROI analyses and consultatively sell to both mid-market and enterprise-level finance executives.
  • Strong understanding of the operational challenges in AR and how digital solutions can create efficiency and value.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate technical details into business impact across multiple levels.
  • Highly organized, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-growth SaaS company.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% for client meetings, conferences, and internal events.
  • Bonus Points:
    • Experience working with CFOs, controllers, or AR leaders in SaaS or FinTech environments.
    • Familiarity with Salesforce, payment gateways, or ERP integrations.

Compensation:
The expected base salary range for this position is $110,000 – $130,000 annually. Compensation may vary depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for additional incentives like equity, commissions, or other performance-related bonuses. Further details will be provided by our Talent Acquisition team during the interview process.
