Job description

Overview:

SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking a Underwriting Operations Optimization Manager. The Manager is responsible for all aspects of workforce planning and ensures business needs are met through accurate forecasting, scheduling, intraday management, KPI reporting, analysis, and team leadership. 

What you’d be doing: 

  • Lead and manage the Underwriting Operations team, including supervisors, analysts, and support staff.  
  • Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure underwriting workflows are efficient, consistent, and aligned with business goals.  
  • Develop and manage operational scorecards and dashboards using data tools such as DOMO to track key performance indicators (KPIs).  
  • Monitor workload volumes, staffing needs, and performance metrics; adjust resources proactively using forecasting and data analysis tools.  
  • Drive process improvements by identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation.  
  • Collaborate with underwriting leadership to forecast staffing needs and plan for peak volume periods.  
  • Create and maintain reports, scorecards, and dashboards using tools like DOMO to provide visibility into daily performance.  
  • Collaborate with underwriting leadership, HR, and training teams to identify performance gaps and implement development strategies.  
  • Monitor referral turnaround times, queue volumes, and inspection follow-ups to ensure timely processing.  
  • Ensure compliance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements.  
  • Serve as a liaison between underwriting, IT, policy services, and training to streamline cross-functional initiatives.  
  • Lead strategic projects focused on optimizing customer experience, scaling operations, and enhancing risk selection practices.  
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and innovation.  

We’re looking for someone who has: 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and generate actionable insights. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. 
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. 

Highly preferred candidates also have: 

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or 5 plus years relevant work experience. 
  • Experience with Workforce Management software (scheduling, performance tracking, reporting) 
  • Experience with Domo reporting, Zendesk administration, Amazon Connect, CXOne, Genesys. 
  • Experience in insurance (especially property/casualty). 
  • History of supporting cross functional initiatives.
