Job description

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Cloud Platform Operations Engineer with hands-on experience in OpenShift, IBM Cloud Pak, and related technologies. In this remote role based in Bangladesh, you will be responsible for the operational health, maintenance, and incident management of critical enterprise applications running on cloud-native platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure application performance, troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues, and contribute to automation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and maintain applications on Red Hat OpenShift and IBM Cloud Pak, including pod troubleshooting and cluster health monitoring.
Provide L2 operational support for application platforms to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
Monitor, analyze, and resolve application and infrastructure incidents, escalating to appropriate teams as needed.
Perform root cause analysis on recurring issues and collaborate with Development, DevOps, and Business teams for long-term resolution.
Work closely with architecture teams to support deployment and scaling on OpenShift.
Troubleshoot business transactions using AppDynamics, and create dashboards for performance and flow visualization.
Monitor and troubleshoot database query performance on PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, Oracle, and IBM DB2.
Understand and support API flows including gateways, message queues (IBM MQ, RabbitMQ), event streaming (Kafka), and caching (Redis, DataGrid).
Automate routine tasks using Shell scripting, Ansible, or Python to enhance operational efficiency.
Leverage the ELK stack for log analysis and issue resolution.
Support and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitLab.
Ensure platform security by understanding firewalls, load balancers, VIPs, and following security best practices.
Perform basic Linux server administration and manage infrastructure components.
Stay up-to-date with emerging AI and Tech-related trends relevant to the platform.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of experience in cloud operations or platform engineering.
Strong experience with Red Hat OpenShift, IBM Cloud Pak, AppDynamics, and ELK stack.
Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, Oracle, IBM DB2).
Scripting skills in Shell, Python, or Ansible.
Understanding of Kubernetes, microservices architecture, and CI/CD tools.
Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and analytical skills.
Knowledge of networking, load balancing, and security concepts.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Red Hat OpenShift, IBM Cloud, MongoDB, Redis) are a strong plus.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
