The Koch Associate Program (KAP) is a career accelerator for early to mid-career professionals with a drive to tackle our country’s most pressing challenges in more effective, principled ways. KAP equips associates with the tools, mindsets, and community to succeed as social entrepreneurs—individuals excited to find new and better ways to break barriers and eliminate injustice. Associates spend one day each week engaging in experiential learning with Stand Together Fellowships and work at one of our many partner organizations the rest of the week. Our curriculum is designed to supercharge your development and equip you for long-term success as you seek to have an impact on the problems that prevent people from realizing their potential.
About Reformers Academy: Reformers Academy (RA) recruits, trains, and deploys policy-interested professionals into positions of influence in the healthcare arena, equipping them to empower individuals and families and fight for the future of the next generation, our economy, and the American Dream. We do this by running twice a year Health Reformers Academy (HRA) fellowships.
As a new and growing organization, we have built a policy training academy for working professionals who want to focus on healthcare policy. We are looking for a passionate, talented, and hard-working professional committed to this mission to join our team.
Our core values are:
· Invested in people -
· Partnership-focused
· Intent on continuous improvement and challenging the status quo
· Practice-oriented
About the Fellows Engagement Manager:
We are looking for an individual who loves to help others succeed and connect people to one another for mutual benefit.
As a talent development organization, we are building an ever-expanding community of well-trained healthcare reformers across the country, continually helping people find impactful policy roles; meet peers, mentors, and experts who can help them in their current jobs; and deepen their knowledge and experiences in the healthcare reform arena. The fellows engagement manager will focus primarily on this work. As a result, the fellows engagement manager will grow their own personal network significantly and get a chance to interact with leading healthcare reformers around the country.

Reformers Academy Core Values:
Invested in People First
We believe transformative change occurs when talented and strategic policy practitioners (inside and outside of government) drive it. That’s why we’re in the talent development business. We enjoy helping people find rewarding policy careers, where they can make a difference in the most important policy frontiers of our time.
Partnership-Focused
Reformers Academy is movement-minded, meaning we seek to broaden and strengthen the pool of talent available to serve in key government roles (at the state and federal levels) and aligned reform organizations, such as think tanks and advocacy groups. We recognize that when we develop talent well and guide someone into an education or health policy career, it is as beneficial to the movement they are entering as it is to the person him/herself. As such, we work daily to find ways that we can support – and not compete with – like-minded partners.
Intent on Continuous Improvement and Challenging the Status Quo
We are unashamed to say that our healthcare and education systems are routinely failing the very people they are supposed to support. Most students in America do not read or write on grade level. In recent years, in many places, student learning has regressed or shown no improvement. In health care, costs continue to rise dramatically as government intervention in healthcare increases and too many patients lack timely access to high-quality healthcare. Things aren’t working well and must get better. Both the healthcare and education systems are dominated by legacy structures and players that do not easily innovate and are generally resistant to being held accountable for student or patient outcomes.
At Reformers Academy, we view the existing power structures in the healthcare and education systems with skepticism and encourage participants to be disruptive thinkers – challenging current norms and envisioning better paths forward. Together, education and healthcare spending accounts for the lion’s share of state-level budgets. Healthcare costs consume an ever-larger share of family budgets as well. Taxpayers have a right to expect better results for the money being invested in these arenas.
As an organization, we are also introspective, regularly refining our methods and programming to continually improve and deliver the best possible outcomes for the people and organizations we support and serve.
Practice-Oriented
Our aim is to educate changemakers who can skillfully operate and navigate the realities of the American political system and government structures. Our instruction merges theory, history, and practice to ensure our fellows graduate with the knowledge and skills they need to be effective advocates and public servants.
We also don’t tell our participants what to think; instead, we provide a firm policy foundation underneath their feet, which gives them the knowledge and confidence to think more creatively, innovate, and more effectively drive change.
