In this senior level role, you’ll design, optimize, and maintain complex SQL database solutions that power mission-critical applications supporting our hunt/fish agency customers. You’ll collaborate closely with developers, analysts, and clients to ensure high-quality data services, performance, and reliability.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance SQL scripts, stored procedures, triggers, and views.
- Analyze system requirements, client needs, and data models to architect scalable and secure database solutions.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and backup/recovery processes are in place and optimized.
- Evaluate and implement database upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, schema diagrams, and data dictionaries.
- Assist with ad-hoc data analysis, reporting, and data fixes in support of customer needs and internal requests.
- Troubleshoot database performance issues, including query optimization and indexing strategies.
- Participate in code reviews, provide technical guidance, and support cross-functional collaboration with software and infrastructure teams.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional experience as a SQL Database Developer or DBA in a production environment.
- Deep expertise in SQL (e.g., T-SQL, PL/SQL) and familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of relational database design, performance tuning, and data normalization.
- Experience with cloud-based databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, etc.)
- Proficiency in database tools such as RedGate, SentryOne, or comparable solutions.
- Familiarity with C# or other programming languages and experience integrating databases via APIs.
- Knowledge of database backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Working knowledge of DevOps principles and CI/CD for database deployments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think algorithmically.
- Exposure to ETL processes and data warehouse concepts (preferred but not required)
- Willingness to travel as needed (1x-2x per year),
Position Location:
This position is anticipated to be a full-time remote position. The standard work hours for this position will follow Eastern Standard Time.
Compensation & Benefits:

- The compensation range is $90,000.00-$115,000.00 with the final level and corresponding salary determined based on the candidate’s expertise, qualifications, and prior experience within the applicable pay band.
