We’re seeking a driven and experienced Director of Software Engineering to join our team and help us generate solutions that grow Bamboo Health. In this role, you will lead multiple engineering teams focused on our Behavioral Health product line. Our behavioral health products are used by state governments to identify and track behavioral health resources creating a unified that facilitates rapid referrals and fosters collaboration among mental, health, substance use and medical providers. Your role will be multifaceted and extremely dynamic. You will need to balance the needs of the engineering organization along with those of the product, sales, and support teams, as Bamboo Health executes concurrent projects impacting high volume, high throughput systems.
What You’ll Do
Manage distributed staff, including assigning and prioritizing your team’s work for optimal productivity and facilitating the achievement of team objectives.
Hire, train, motivate, coach, and evaluate staff members, including both individual contributors and people leaders.
Set clear expectations and create a positive work environment based on accountability, in collaboration with the engineering and management teams.
Champion internal process improvements
Actively contribute to product roadmaps aligned with your organization
Adhere, and ensure adherence of team members, to SDLC processes.
Interact with users, partners, and product team members to understand and define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.

Become familiar with the details of our business domain, development process, and product lines
Directly manage engineering managers and individual contributors.
In 6 months…
Drive progress towards clear objectives and remove roadblocks facing your teams
Participate in the recruiting process to attract high-caliber new engineers
Develop the careers of engineers by providing feedback, mentorship and creating growth opportunities
Contribute to and improve the technical direction of our products
In 12 months…
Demonstrate repeated delivery of product line goals within expected timeframes
Formulate meaningful improvements to processes and demonstrate increased team productivity
Own the technical excellence of large areas within our applications
Build a team which has autonomy, ownership, and acts as a multiplier to all other teams around them
What You Need
10+ years professional experience managing software development teams with a BS degree in Computer Science or related field
Passion for spearheading change in complex healthcare environments, and interoperability/healthcare tech trends
Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work in a team environment
Ability to motivate, energize and drive performance from your team
Knowledge of Cloud Technologies, preferably experience with AWS.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of judgment and creativity in designing innovative solutions.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth, and rapidly evolving environments.
Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment, ensuring high-quality virtual interactions with minimal distractions.
